Sarah was born in 1815.
She married John Basham in 1831.
She arrived in Australia on 25 May 1857 aboard Golconda along with her husband and 6 children. Also another daughter Mrs. Cutmore (Mary Ann). [1] Her eldest sons John & William had arrived in 1855 aboard Constitution.
She passed away in 1893. [3] [2] [4]
On Thursday afternoon, Mrs. John Basham, of the Dawson River, passed quietly away, at the ripe old age of 81 years. The deceased lady was present at the Wesleyan Church, with her husband, on Sunday night, when Mr. E. Basham, their son, conducted the service. Mrs. Basham was a Christian lady of a bright and cheerful disposition, and leaves a husband a few years her senior in age, and several sons and daughters. During their advanced age the deceased and her husband have been most carefully comforted and looked after by Mr. E. Basham, their son and his wife, and occupied a cottage erected for them by that gentleman near his own residence.
