Elizabeth Goodfellow was born in Tyendinaga, Hastings in 1848. She was the daugher of John Goodfellow pioneers of Sarawak. She moved to Dundalk. She married Edward J. Rathwell in March 1871. They did not have any children.
She passed away at the home of her nephew W.E. Monahan in Owen Sound. Survived by one brother and three sisters to mourn her passing; John Goodfellow Kemble; Sarah Mrs Wm Monahan Owen Sound; Matilda, Mrs. Corgett, Oak River, Manitoba and Charlotte, Mrs. Holland Owen Sound. She was predeceased by her husband and two other sisters Marianne Mrs. Coote Marquette Michigand and Jane of Toronto. [1]
