Robert Henry Goodloe was born on 17 May 1711 in Middlesex Co. VA, son of Henry Goodloe (1675 - 1748) and Elizabeth (Weekes) Goodloe (1678 - 1751).

Robert married Martha Carter (born in Spotsylvania Co., VA about 1745; died in 1778), daughter of John Carter.
Robert married Elizabeth Guinea (born in Caroline, Virginia about 1713; died in Spotsylvania, Virginia about ~1769), daughter of Michael Guiney and Bridget Barrett, in 1750 in Caroline Co., VA. Their children were:

- Mary Dorothy Goodloe (1743 - 1780)
- Henry Goodloe (1752 - 1834)
- John Goatley (1752 - 1844).

During the Revolutionary war, he furnished supplies to the war effort. Robert died on 5 Nov 1790 in Berkeley Parish, Spotsylvania Co., VA aged 79. [2]
