When Pearl C. Goodman was born on September 4, 1883, in South Carolina, her father, Bluford, was 41, and her mother, Susan, was 36. She had two brothers and three sisters. She died as a teenager on June 17, 1902, in her hometown, and was buried in Cross Hill, South Carolina.[1]
