Thomas Goodman, the fifth son, from whom the family here recorded takes its descent, was born in Hadley September 16, 1673, and died there October 5, 17 48. He married, about 1698, Grace Marsh, a great-granddaughter of Governor John Webster. She died in 1756. Their graves are in the old part of the Hadley burying ground, his grave being marked by the original stone, a sandstone slab in good condition, inscribed, "Mr. Thomas Goodman, died Oct. 5, 17 48." In his will, which is preserved in the Registry of Probate of Hampshire County at Northampton, he gives two-thirds of his property to his "beloved Wife, Grace."
