Biography

Charles Goodnight was a Texan.

Pioneer of Texas Panhandle

Charles Goodnight was a Texas Ranger, co-founder of the Goodnight-Loving Cattle Trail and inventor of the chuck wagon. He established the Goodnight College in Armstrong County, Texas, as well as working as a banker and cattleman - he was reportedly the first Panhandle rancher in Texas to build fences of barbed wire.
