Mary (Goodrich) Woodman immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).
Note: See TAG:43 p.44-5 which notes the date of birth provided by Edwin A. Goodridge in the Goodridge Genealogy are entirely unsourced estimates and are not recorded in Bury St Edmunds parish records His dates of Jan. 8, 1633 and May 18, 1684 are pure fiction. There may have been some confusion over the William Goodrich the Younger of Bury St. Edmunds who also had a daughter Mary and emigrated to Hartford & Wethersfield, Connecticut and the father of this profile, William Goodrich of (maybe) Hessett and (definitely) Woolverstone who emigrated to Watertown, Massachusetts. These two Williams are very likely first cousins, just to confuse things a little more.
Mary Goodridge, daughter of William and Margaret (Butterfield) Goodridge was baptized at Woolverston, Suffolk Co., England on August 21, 1634.[1] She came to New England with her parents, where William is first recorded at Watertown, Massachusetts Bay Colony in the second land division of February 28, 1637. [2][3][4]
Mary married Edward Woodman Jr. at Newbury, Massachusetts on December 30, 1653. [5][6][4]
Edward was born in England about 1628, son of Edward Sr. and ?Joanna Woodman who came from Christian, Malford, Wiltshire in about 1635 and settled at Newbury, Massachusetts Bay Colony. [5]
Her husband Edward wrote his will on Dec. 16, 1693. In it he names:
Rebecca born on September 17, 1661; died in infancy. [8][9]
Rebecca born on July 29, 1663 [8][9] died at Rowley, Massachusetts on March 9, 1728 ; married Ezekiell Liton/Layton/Laighton on Mar. 23, 1686 at Rowley. [10]
Sarah born on July 18, 1665; [8][9]; married Nathaniel Merrill at Haverhill, Massachusetts. [11]
Edward born on March 20, 1670; died by February 2, 1719 [12]; married Sarah [int. Mary] Sawyer on June 29, 1702. [8][6][9]
Archelaus born June 9, 1672; died on March 17, 1766 at the age of 94 [13] ; married Hannah ___. [8][6][9]
___ born on November 18, 1674; died on November 24, 1674. [8][6]
Margaret born on August 31, 1676; died on April 6, 1718; married Richard Barlett on April 12, 1699 [8][6][9]; died April 16, 1718 and is buried in the Old Burying Ground. [13]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
