Born 24 OCT 1829. Hartford, Connecticut. [2]
Event: Anecdote Note: 3 Transcribed from Case: "learned the printers' trade, and when 21 years of age went from Boston to Hartford, and entered the office of the Hartford Courant as journeyman printer; several years afterward was promoted to the foremanship of the office, and in 1862 became a partner in the ownership of the paper, and has since that time been one of its active proprietors. His whole business life, with the exception of the year 1869, has been spent on the Courant, which has become one of the most influential in New England. He has been actively interested in the work of collecting materials for a genealogy of the Goodrich family, and is a member of the executive committee of the "Goodrich Family Association," succeeding the late L. S. Goodrich of Warner, Tenn". [3]
