Lydia Goodrich was born 3 November 1751 in Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut Colony to parents Elijah Goodrich and Mary Wright.
[1][2]
Lydia married Appleton Holmes in Hartford County, on 14 November 1771. It is unclear where the marriage took place, since it is recorded in both Glastonbury and Rocky Hill.
[3][4] Glastonbury is just across the Connecticut River from Rocky Hill, which at that time was part of Wethersfield, in the Stepney Parish. Other than a 13 mile trek from one to the other place, there was a ferry across the river, at least in summer and early fall, joining the two places.
