John Goodrich, the fourth child and eldest surviving son of Ens. William Goodrich and Sarah Marvin, was born at Wethersfield, Connecticut, on May 20, 1653. This birth date is cited by multiple sources, but published birth records of Wethersfield only cite "** '52."[1][2][3][4]
Sources cite two different death dates for John. Case says "Sept. 5, 1730." while Stiles says "abt. 1737, æ 84."[1][2][7] Presumably he died in Wethersfield, but there is no death record for him in the Barbour Collection of published Connecticut Vital Records.
Children
The children of John Goodrich and Rebecca Allen were probably all born at Wethersfield, where all but son Jacob had their births recorded.[1][4]
Probate: No probate records for John have yet been found.
Children Probably Incorrectly Attached To This Family: The child Sybil was marked as of uncertain parentage since the only source that lists her as John's child is John's unsourced Find A Grave: Memorial #46471864.
Sybil Goodrich, b. circa 1688-9, d. in 1785 at Wintonbury Parish (now Bloomfield, Conn.), "Aged" 97; m. Nov. 18, 1718 at Wethersfield, Bezaleel Latimer, s. of Sgt. John Latimer & Mary Robinson, b. Oct. 28, 1689 at Wethersfield. He d. testate at Wethersfield betw. May 10 and June 22, 1745, Æ 56. Note - neither Goodrich Family nor Genealogical Notes by Goodwin list this child
William Goodrich was linked as child, but was removed since his birth location is listed as Roxbury, all known children are of Wethersfield and he is not listed with other children in sources.
