Biography

William Goodson was born in Appalachia, in Tennessee.

William Edward Goodson was born on 11 Sep 1921 in Sparta, White County, Tennessee, son of Champion Carroll Goodson (1899 - 1977) and Lillie Mae (Baker) Goodson (1897 - 1975).

William married Mabel E. Riggs (1923 - 1990).

Their children were:

  1. William Donald Goodson (1947 - 2015)
  2. Marsha Irene (Goodson) Pine (1951 - living).

In the 1930 census William (age 8) was the son of Champion Goodson in District 01, White, Tennessee, United States.[1] Champion Goodson 30, wife Lillie Goodson 32, son William Goodson 8, son Hillis Goodson 3, son Ernest Goodson 1.

In the 1940 census William (age 18) was the single son of Lillie Godson in Peeled Chestnut, White, Tennessee, United States.[2] Lillie Godson 43, son William Godson 18, son Hilles Godson 13, son Ernest Godson 11, daughter Mandy Godson 7.

In the 1950 census William (age 28), Farmer, was the never married head of household in Sparta, White, Tennessee, United States.[3] William E Goodson 28 years, wife Mable E Goodson 27 years, son William D Goodson 3 years.

William died on 8 Dec 2007 in Anderson, Madison, Indiana, USA aged 86. He is buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, Indiana.[4][5]
