Sidney was born in 1910, one of . He was 6 children born to Frederick Goodwin and Augusta Tyler. [1]

Census 1911 In the 1911 census Sidney was living with her parents, Frederick Joseph Goodwin and Augusta (Tyler) Godwin, and siblings in Melksham, Wiltshire, England. [2]
On the 10 April 1912 the Goodwin family set sail from Southampton on RMS Titanic bound for New York, USA. [3]
On the 15 April, 1912 the Titanic sank in the Atlantic Sea and all members of the Goodwin family were lost at sea. Sidney was 2 but age on records listed as 6. [4]
His body was recovered but at the time was not identified. He is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
In 2007 Canadian researchers at Lakehead University tested the child's HVS1, a type of mitochondrial DNA molecule. DNA extracted from the exhumed remains and DNA provided by a surviving maternal relative helped positively match the remains to Sidney, and the identification was announced on 30 July 2007.[5] [6]
