John Goodwin of Berwick, mason, sold to Tobias Leighton of Kittery, yeoman, for £77/17 on 3 July 1741: "a Dwelling House & orchard with about Two Acres of Land... Situate in the Town of Berwick... which Land I bought of Moses Goodwin Decd." The land was bounded by Walter Abbot, deceased, the road between Kittery and the Berwick Meeting House, and by Thomas Goodwin. The deed was witnessed by Joseph Plaisted and Nathaniel Bray.[1]
