Clara was born about 1890 in Franklin County, Georgia. She was the daughter of John Goodwin and Francis Chastain. She married Julius Andrew McCoy about 1911. He was nine years her senior and passed away in 1928 leaving her as a widow for forty years. She passed away in 1968.
