Biography

James Goodwin was born in Clunes, Victoria in 1867. He was the son of Arthur Goodwin and Sarah Patton. ^[1]

He married May Helena Dawson in Victoria in 1897 ^[2]

The following notice of their marriage appeared in The Australasian dated 27 November 1897 ^[3]

GOODWIN - DAWSON On the 20th October at the Presbyterian Church, Dandenong, by the Rev J Gibson, of West Melbourne, assisted by the Rev McDermid, James eldest son of the late Arthur Goodwin (late of Clunes) to May Helena, eldest daughter of C H Dawson Esq., of Dandenong.

James and May had the following known children:

2. Lillian Patton reg 17718/1900 (CAULD Caulfield)
3. Agnes Amy reg 16161/1902 (BRTN Brighton)

It is unknown when or where James passed away, but as his wife May held a South African passport, then it is assumed that they lived there together.
