Brick wall is William Goodwin born Va Jan 2 1748, found in St Peters New Kent registry. William Goodwin living on Wake / Chatham County line is a confirmed Patriot from the American Revolution per DAR 887359 and SAR 214669, but with a 1739 birth date. We think that these are the same person but cannot find the proof. Further up the tree the Goodwin that came from England is Major James Goodwin. There is a DNA connection between descendants of James Goodwin and descendants of William Goodwin through T Jerry Goodwin Author of The Goodwin Family of Central North Carolina. So it seems that we're connected to Major James Goodwin but have not found the connection thru William.
