Not sure if this is relevant, but I find a Peterson E. Goodwyne and Evelina V. Davis being married in Lunenburg Co., Virginia, on 13 Dec 1841. (The source is: "Marriages of Lunenburg County, Virginia" compiled by Matheny & Yates, reprinted by Genealogical Publishing Co., 1979.)
