William was born about 1843, son of Robert William Gordon and Mary Magwood.
County Fermanagh born William Gordon, Bootmaker aged 30 married Adelaide born Ellen Nugent, aged 18, in Seymour, Victoria, Australia on 21 July 1874. Parents Robert Gordon (Farmer) and Mary Magwood; Francis Nugent (Labourer) and Elizabeth Mullins. [1]

Son William Robert Gordon was born in Seymour, Victoria in 1874. [2]
In 1881 the Gordon family settled in the railway construction "tent town" on the outskirts of Narrandera and William worked on the rail construction. When the rail construction moved on, William Robert moved his family into the town proper and returned to his trade as a bootmaker.
He passed away in 1908 [3] and was buried at the Narrandera Cemetery. [4] [5]
