Sir GEORGE GORDON Bart. b.3 Oct.1637. Professor of Law at Kings College ,Aberdeen succeeded his brother in 1665 ,appointed a Lord of Session with the title Lord Haddo 1680 and became Lord President on I Nov. 168I . He was created-Lord Chancellor of Scotland 1 May 1682 and Sheriff Principal of the Counties of Aberdeen& Edinburgh. He was created Earl of Aberdeen by King CHARLES the Second in recognition of his own services and of his father's devoted loyalty and of his sufferings in the Loyal cause. He d.at the house of Kelly in 83rd years of his age 20 Apr.1720 & was buried here .Also of his wife ANNE LOCKHART Countess of Aberdeen dau .of GEORGE LOCKHART of Torbrecks d .July 1707 also of his oldest son GEORGE, Lord Haddo b 1674 - d.Sept.1699 and of his children JOHN, JAMES, PATRICK & JOAN who d.in infancy and of his dau. Lady MARGARET GORDON who d. unmarried 1638, ,all buried here. [MI Methlick]
