Biography

Vinson Astor Gordon was born 10 Oct 1914 in Charlotte, Montgomery County, Georgia, the son of William Marvin Gordon, Sr. and Alviney Holmes Gordon[1]. In 1920[2] and 1930[3], he lived in Montgomery County with his parents and siblings.

He married Ruby Mae Smith.

He registered for the draft for World War II, citing Ruby as next of kin[4].

He enlisted in the Army April 16, 1945 at Ft. McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia[5].

He died January 29, 2003[6] and was buried in Moseley Cemetery, Uvalda, Montgomery County, Georgia[1].
