Uncle Sam owned a poultry shop in Waverly, Illinois. We enjoyed the baby chickens. He built a nice 3 bedroom brick home and we wished Mom and Dad could have one like it. Usually some of the Gordons gathered for a potluck reunion in the summer at Terry Park or at Aunt Zulah's big house. Mom would take several fresh fried chickens and homemade pies. Dad enjoyed the good food and visiting and time with his family. As remembered by Nancy Gordon McKaughan.
