ROCHESTER — Final rites for John Gordon, 80, Rt. 2, Rochester, will be at 2 p.m. today a Foster, and Good Funeral Home The Rev. Howard Addleman will officiate and burial will be in Hamlett Cemetery in Newcastle Township. Friends may call at the funeral home. His death occurred unexpectedly at 8:20 p.m. Sunday at his home seven miles northeast of here. He had been ill for two years. Born March 25, 1885, near Fulton, he was the son of Samuel and Diadama Deweese Gordon. His marriage on Sept. 4, 1907, was to Maudie Hamlett.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Charles 0., Rt. 2, Warsaw and Byron H., Rt. 2, Rochester; three grandchildren two great-grandchildren and two brothers, Eugene, Rt. 6, Rochester, and Lyman, Plymouth. He was preceded in death by a son, a sister, and two brothers.
He was a retired farmer and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
