According to her death record her parents were Henry Gordon and Phoebe Nelson, and she was stated to be born at Lake Boort, which is near Loddon in Victoria. A birth index has not been located for her, but her correct parents are likely to be Henry Timlock Gordon and Phoebe Ridgewell, as that couple were having children around Loddon in the 1860s.
