Biography

5th son of Gerard Gore 1516–1607 and Ellen Davenant Gore unknown–1608.

He married Joan Lee Coke unknown–1658 (does the Coke mean she remarried after William's death? Maiden name appears to have been Lee).

He was resident in London and Tottenham, a merchant and Alderman of London, and died in 1624 (possibly in Tottenham, maybe in London - his will should give us more information)

Research Notes

Not clear that the Tottenham Find a Grave is for this William Gore, but it may be. Alternatively Boyd has a 1625 London burial. Need to get the will transcribed to see what else it tells us (assuming it is for this William Gore, but it seems likely as the will is for an Alderman).

The HoP bio for John Coke states he married 2nd Joan Lee (Nov.1624) daughter of Robert Lee, mayor of London and widow of William Gore of Tottenham. John Coke's 1st wife was a daughter of John Powell whose family William's brother Baronet Paul Powell Gore was named for.
