Biography
Sir Edward Gorges was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.
Edward was born in 1564, baptized at Wraxall on 5 Sep 1564. He was the son of Edward Gorges and Cecily Lygon.
Edward entered Hart's College, Oxford, 1 March, 1582-3, aged 18, as arm.; of Charlton, Somerset (s. Edward of Wraxall, Somerset). He was knighted 23 July, 1603; died in 1624
He married Dorothy Speke, the daughter of Sir George Speke and Elizabeth Luttrell.
