Witnesses to Sarah and Edward's marriage were Thomas Gow and Edward Rochester.
An obituary in Windsor and Richmond Gazette dated 22nd July, 1893 reads:
The Late Mrs. Thompson.
The funeral of Mrs. Edward Thompson took place last week at Richmond, when there was a large attendance. The funeral service was conducted by Rev, A, Kilworth, assisted by Rev's C.F. Garnsey and G. Fielding.
The "Evening News" says:- "The death of Mrs. Edward Thompson, wife of Mr. Edward Thompson, George and Goulburn-streets, Sydney, occurred on Monday. The deceased lady was a native of Windsor, and the only (surviving) sister of Mr. William Gosper, of that town.
She was always noted for her kindness and readiness to assist any of her fellow creature in distress; no one has ever left her, after asking for assistance, without being relieved. Her sufferings were very great, but her patience and resignation with which she bore her affliction showed that her faith was firmly fixed.
She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn her loss.
Sarah died from Tubercular Phthisis and was buried at St. Peter's Church of England Graveyard, Richmond.
