Email from Ed Goss 011001:

"As to the conversion of the Torbay Gosses to R.C., you are right that, as regards the direct line that comes down to you and me, the conversion occurred when Samuel Goss married Ellen Power, an R.C. girl, in 1816 and agreed to baptise and raise their children R.C. We believe, however, that Samuel did not actually convert until 1832. But it is certain that hedid convert. He died in 1853 and is buried in the old Torbay R.C. cemetery. His gravestone can still be seen there.".
