Biography

Ronald E. Goss, 79, of McClure, passed away in the house where he was born, surrounded by his family at 3:47 p.m. on Wednesday Sept. 11, 2019 at his home.

Born April 27, 1940 in McClure, he was the son of the late John S. and Nettie E. Goss. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gladys Fultz, Betty Haines, Glen Goss, and Mae Anna Lash, and a granddaughter, Lilli Goss.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn A. (Cummings) Goss, whom he married on April 4, 1959, children, Kenneth L. Goss, and wife, Laurie, of Lewistown; Sherri A. McKee, and husband, James, Timothy R. Goss, and wife, Tina, of McClure; and Kim E. McGuire, and husband, Eugene, of New Jersey, grandchildren, Kraig McKee, Ronald John Goss, Emily Shirk, Tobin Wyland, Megan McKalips, Matthew McKee, Alyse Pandel, Tyler Goss, Elizabeth Goss, Trent Goss, and Shea, Allison, Drew and Chase McGuire, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ronald was a graduate of Lewistown High School, Class of 1958. He was employed as a supervisor at Lozier Production in McClure, and Lewistown Specialty Yarns for 27 years. Most importantly, Ronald was a farmer his entire life, it meant the world to him. He was also a member of Mount Bethel Church in McClure, a member of The Decatur Township Planning Board, The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, and was an avid gardener, Penn State Nittany Lions, Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.

A funeral service in loving memory of Ronald will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Sept. 21, 2019 at Mount Bethel Church of McClure, 16 Specht St., McClure, PA 17841, with Pastor Robert Nash officiating. There will be a time of visitation with the family held from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Arrangements are under the care of The Barr Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory, 120 Logan St., Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ronald’s memory are respectfully encouraged to: Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation, 510 South 31st St., Camp Hill, PA 17001.
