Biography

There are several conflicting accounts of the early Spaniard's Bay Gosses, none of which offer any sources for resolution. One account claims there was a Richard Gosse b. ca 1727 in England, who married a Catherine; and had 5 children born in Harbour Grace:

1. John (b. abt 1755, married a Mary),
2. Mary (b. 1758, married a David Barrett),
3. William (b 1760, m. Mary Sheppard),
4. Richard (b. abt 1769, m. Mary Hutchings),
5. Robert (abt 1770, m. Grace Pebble)^[1].

Another has much the same tree, except that it was a William Gosse (b 1725) married to Catherine) who were the parents of the Spaniard's Bay Gosses^[2][3].
