Richard married an Ann Unknown (b.1756 in Harbour Grace.)[1][2], and had several children.

Richard Gosse Sr (1718-1774), and Robert Gosse Sr (Dec. 26, 1723- 1794) , sons of Thomas Gosse and Susannah locke, were journeymen Ship Wrights. They came to Newfoundland at an early age and settled in Bread and Cheese Cove.
