Ignace Gosselin was born on 30 December 1815 in Québec, Bas-Canada. Baptised next day as Ygnace at Notre-Dame-de-Québec. He was the son of Ignace Gosselin and Angèle Tanguay. [1]
Ignace's first marriage was to Marie Dufresne (b. about 1815 - d. 4 oct 1839), daughter of Louis Dufresne and Marie Godbout, on 17 October 1837, at Saint-Roch-de-Québec parish. No children from this marriage. [2]
Ignace's second marriage was to Marie Marguerite Bedard, daughter of Thomas Bédard and Marguerite Durocher on April 12, 1842 at Saint-Roch-de-Québec parish. [3]
