Biography
Elizabeth Catherine Gotshall was born on August 12, 1831 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Peter Gotshall and Ann Woodling. She married John Newton Adair on April 4, 1849, in Cass County, Indiana. They were farmers and had ten children during their marriage. She died on May 29, 1896, in Logansport, Indiana, at the age of 65, and was buried there.
Elizabeth Gotshall was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Aug 12th, 1831. She moved with her parents to Vigo county Indiana in 1836. Then to Cass county in May 1844.
She was married to John N. Adair, April 5th, 1849; came with her husband to a cabin on the farm on which she died, and which she had born her part in clearing and improving from a forest to a farm. Ten children were born of this union, five girls and five boys.
One daughter and one son and her husband proceeded her to the spirit world. She was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church for forty years willing to bear her burdens and those of others.
