He Was married three times his 1st wife Joanna Townsley died giving birth His 2nd wife Sarah brown is the mother of Ida Christena Goudy and James Brown Goudy his 3rd wife is either Jane Cook or Jane Kranz not sure which.

There are at least two books referring to James Brown Goudy as JB Goudy where it's written like he is her father not brother.
