Margaret Gould, the daughter of Samuel Gould (also spelled Goole) and Mehitable Barrett, was born 26 May 1687 in Chelmsford, Middlesex, Massachusetts.[1][2][3]
In 1720, her parents, Samuel and Mehitable became the first persons to be maintained at thepublic expense in Chelmsford. The town gave them 8 shillings a week and provided a horse for them to ride to meeting.[2]
