Biography

Margaret Gould, the daughter of Samuel Gould (also spelled Goole) and Mehitable Barrett, was born 26 May 1687 in Chelmsford, Middlesex, Massachusetts.^[1][2][3]

She married John Chamberlain in Concord, Massachusetts on 13 March 1709.^[1][2] They had seven children: Josiah Chamberlain, John Chamberlain, Anne Chamberlain, John Chamberlain, Deborah Chamberlain, Samuel Chamberlain, and Mehitable Chamberlain.

The time and place of her death is not known.

In 1720, her parents, Samuel and Mehitable became the first persons to be maintained at thepublic expense in Chelmsford. The town gave them 8 shillings a week and provided a horse for them to ride to meeting.^[2]
