Biography

Isaac Gould was a farmer, businessman and politician in Ontario, Canada. He represented Ontario North in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1883 to 1890 and Ontario West in the Canadian House of Commons from 1900 to 1904 as a Liberal member.

Born in 1839, he was the son of Joseph Gould and Mary James. He married Rebecca Chapman on September 23, 1863.

Isaac died on June 6, 1915 in Uxbridge, Durham, Ontario, Canada.

Children of Isaac Gould and Rebecca Chapman are:

1. Joseph W. Gould was born in about 1864 in Uxbridge, Ontario. Joseph marries to Alice Maud McGuire on October 25, 1888 in Uxbridge. Alice is the daughter of John and Mary Ann McGuire.

2. Charles Gould was born in about 1866 in Uxbridge, Ontario.

3. Mary Gould was born in about 1867 in Uxbridge, Ontario.

4. Nancy Adda Gould was born in about 1869 in Uxbridge, Ontario. She marries to Donald Henry Douglas on December 2, 1903 at Uxbridge. Donald is the son of John Douglas and Mary Furlong.

5. Elizabeth Gould was born on December 15, 1872 at Uxbridge, Ontario. She marries to Walter Reuben Carr on July 8, 1903 at Uxbridge. Walter is the son of Benjamin Carr and Sarah Harding.

6. Isaac James Gould was born on December 6, 1876 at Uxbridge, Ontario, Ontario. He marries to Hughena Jessie Ann McPherson on April 6, 1904 at Thorah, Ontario. Hughena is the daughter of Angus McPherson and Mary Colville.

7. Rebecca Ethel Gould was born on November 23, 1879 at Uxbridge, Ontario. She marries to Robert Smillie on August 2, 1905 in Uxbridge. They move to Nelson, British Columbia where Robert is a Teacher. Robert is the son of Joseph Smillie and Jean Cairns. Rebecca dies on July 8, 1966 in Nelson, B.C.

9. Alma May Gould was born in about 1881 at Uxbridge, Ontario. Alma dies on September 9, 1926 at Uxbridge.
