Biography

Thomas was a butcher residing at Clayhanger, Combe St Nicholas, Somerset. His family were nonconformists, so none of his children were listed in the parish baptismal register. His marriage to Joan Aplin was recorded in Combe St Nicholas Chard, Somerset.

Age based on death record age of 59 in September 1841. Parents unproven, but supported by multiple DNA matches. Clayhanger, where this family were residing , is actually in Wadeford Combe St Nicholas, so Thomas would have been a short walk away from where his sister Mary (Gould) Hawker and her husband James were running their grocery shop.

NB. There is some disarray in church records of Chaffcombe around 1780.
