Biography

Birth : James GOULD was born on 25 Jul 1843 at Mangrove Creek, NSW.

Marriage : The spouse of James GOULD is not known, but a James GOULD is listed in the 1891 NSW Census as living at Mangrove Creek in a household together with only one other male and no females. In the 1901 NSW Census, he is living in Mangrove Creek in a household with two other males and one female - possibly his spouse.

I am not aware of any children of James GOULD.

Death : James possibly died in 1909 in Granville, NSW.[1]

Research Notes

Did James have a family and offspring? Researching all marriages marriages for a James GOULD in NSW (incl. variant spellings) failed to identify a marriage that could be unambiguously allocated to this James. Looking at births of children to a James GOULD also did not identify a suitable family resident at Mangrove Creek or thereabouts. As such, it is likely that James remained a bachelor. When did James die? The allocation of the Granville death record in 1909 is speculative as it only gives his father's name (John) and no mother. As such, it could be a different James.
