Biography

Frank Gould was born in Orlando Regional Medical Center because there were no hospitals in Titusville where his parents lived. As he grew up in the 1960s, he witnessed dirt roads become paved with painted lines and the NASA Vertical Assembly Building appear, across the river where he lived, on Cape Canaveral properties.

Technology was also a strength for Frank. While attending Stetson University, his computer talents materialized during classes and he became a teacher's assistant. After graduation, Frank moved to Atlanta for a little over a year then found a computer programming job and moved back to Orlando, Florida.

His career in computers lasted 25 years in major corporations (i.e. NCR, AT&T, IBM) until the "Great Recession" hit the US and he was forced to retire early, at 51 years old in 2007. To certify his Project Management abilities, he passed the Project Management Professional exam giving him qualifications as a certified PMP, in 2007. After this accomplishment, Frank learned from the job placement services that there was a 20% demand with 80% supply of PMP candidates, with few of these paying for experienced Project Managers.

Up to this point in time, Frank had traveled extensively across the globe, including Europe, Scandinavia, New Zealand, Australia, Central and South America.

After losing his career, Frank went to Valencia College to transition into a motion picture career. Unfortunately, a couple years after graduating, the Florida state legislature killed the motion picture industry in the state because the Koch brothers, wealthy oligarchs, paid lobbyists to kill the tax incentive that kept the industry financed. That is, even though Florida generated a profit from the incentive, the Koch brothers wanted to monopolize the motion picture industry by shutting down all state incentives.

That left Frank without his life savings and a student loan that he could not pay because he had no income. His remaining savings from 2014 kept his family in survival mode until Social Security income started mid-2018. During this time, the local bank attempted Grand Theft Larceny with his family's safety deposit box. This required Frank to file charges against the bank to retrieve family possessions and assets.

This is a work in progress and will be periodically updated until the end.

Hi Frank,

I noticed you changed Nehemiah Gould's first name to James. Do you have sources you can add to his profile? Thank you. Sharon

Frank --

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. We have New Member How-Tos to help you get started. Are they helpful or just leave you with questions?

We want to help! Click my name above, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Shirley ~ WikiMessenger

PS Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Frank,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles.

Based on your background, it looks like the Multimedia Project would be a good fit. I would also like to recommend the One Name Studies.

You can also use the Following link to add the project tag to your profile, and you'll be kept up to date on any activity that occurs for that project.

Links to all projects: active projects

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Hi Frank,

Did you have fun learning your way around WikiTree yesterday?

I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can answer?

Hi Frank,

Thanks for completing the tag indicating you wish to research/document your family history. You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members.

As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum: Have you attended a family reunion this summer? Great to have you on board and good luck growing your branches.

Hi Frank,

A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re really glad you’re here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.

Ludwig :)
