Biography

Frances Helen Gould was born in Wilton, Maine on 27 Dec 1829, the daughter of Jeremiah Gould and Ann Powers.

The 1850 US census for Woburn, Massachusetts shows residents Samuel Stone (51), born in Massachusetts, employed as a carpenter, Anne C Stone (44), born in Maine, Frances N Gould (20), born in Maine, Theresa A Gould (18), born in Maine, Apphia Gould (13), born in Massachusetts, a student, Wm N Stone (4), born in Massachusetts, and Emma L Stone (2), born in Massachusetts.

She married Charles Wyer in Massachusetts about 1852. They were the parents of one son, Charles Edward Wyer born in Woburn, Massachusetts on 19 Aug 1858, died in 1894.

The 1860 US census for Woburn, Massachusetts lists residents Charles Wyer (37), born in Massachusetts, employed as a mariner, Frances H Wyer (30), born in Maine, employed as a tailoress, and Charles E Wyer, 1. Charles (elder) has a personal estate valued at $150.

The 1870 US census for Woburn, Massachusetts lists residents Charles Wyer (47), a shoemaker, Hellen F Wyer (40), keeping house, Charlie E Wyer (11), a student and George Wyer (73), a shoemaker. The males were all born in Massachusetts while Frances was born in Maine. Charles (elder) owns real estate valued at $800 and has a personal estate of $300.

The 1880 US census for Woburn, Massachusetts lists residents of a home located at Salem Street as Charles Wyer (57), a shoemaker, his wife Frances H Wyer (50), his father George Wyer (83), and boarder Richard Brady (26), single, employed as a currier.

The 1900 US census for Woburn, Massachusetts lists the residents of a rented home located at 103 Salem Street as Charles Wyer (77), a shoemaker, and his wife of fifty years, Frances H Wyer (70). She was the mother of one child, deceased at the time of this census.

Frances died in Fitchburg, Massachusetts in 1910 and is buried at the Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn, Mass.
