Biography

When Ethel Frances Gould was born on 12 May 1873, in Easthampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts, United States, her father, Francis Jesse Gould, was 36 and her mother, Alice Josephine Warner, was 29. She was their first born (of three) children. Ethel married Frank Bela Spalding on 3 June 1896, in Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut, United States. She lived in Hampshire, Massachusetts, United States in 1880 and River Falls Wisconsin in 1900 and Saint Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota, United States for about 20 years. Ethel and Frank lived with Frank's parents in 1900. He is listed as a bicycle saleman. He has numerous siblings in the home, including two sisters, both teachers.

Frank and Ethel did not have children. For several years. Ethel's mother and brothers lived in their home, and at one point, there was also a child, Mary Brown, listed as a boarder.
