Cheryl Lynn O'Neill, 49, formerly of Lexington, MO, passed from this life on Monday, May 30, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service to honor Cheryl's life will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, June 3, at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines, where the family will greet friends from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service time. Private committal services will take place at a later date. Cheryl was born the daughter of Thomas Alva and Lauvah Alice Newsom Gould on April 7, 1956, in Lexington, MO. She was a 1974 graduate of Lexington High School. A resident of Des Moines for more than 26 years, Cheryl was currently employed with Edward D. Jones, as a branch office administrator for six years. She was also employed part-time with JC Penney Co., as a sales clerk. Cheryl was a loving, caring and devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and "Mammaw"; she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Reed and her husband Marlon of Des Moines; one brother, Duane Gould and his wife Katie of Lexington, MO; one grandson, Khaleb Reed of Des Moines; two nephews, Shannon Gould and his wife Anneliese of Gladstone, MO, and Nathaniel Gould of Overland Park, KS; and several cousins, including Linda Gould of San Antonio, TX. Cheryl was preceded into eternal life by her parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
