In 1850, during the U.S. Census, James was 37 years old living with his wife, Judith, and four children; Aaron, age 14, Ellen, age 13, James, age 7, and Charles at the age of 6 years.[10]
1860 US Census
James was the head-of-household in the 1860 census for Windham, Windham, Vermont. He was 47 years old and Judith was 46. They had three sons living with them; Aaron F., James M. and Charles G. Gould. James was a farmer. Living next to James farm were John Gould, at age 75, his wife Lucy, age 68, and a female, age 31, with the name of Laura.[11]
Death and Burial
James Gould died on July 28, 1900, in Windham, Vermont. He was 87 years old.[12]
