  • James' wife was Judith White Tenney.[3] They were married on June 28, 1835, in Windham.[4]

  • James and Judith White Tenney had the following children:
  1. Aaron F. Gould was born about 1836 for he was 24 years old during the 1860 U.S. Census.[5]
  2. Ellen Abigail Gould, born on August 4, 1837, in Windham, Vermont.[6] She died on January 13, 1910.
  3. James White Gould, born on July 7, 1842, died on March 21, 1907. He married Elvira A. Woodward.[7]
  4. Charles G.Gould married Ella Cobb Harris on October 1, 1871. Parents of the Groom are noted as James Goold and Judith W. Goold.[8]

  • In 1850, during the U.S. Census, James was 37 years old living with his wife, Judith, and four children; Aaron, age 14, Ellen, age 13, James, age 7, and Charles at the age of 6 years.[10]

1860 US Census

  • James was the head-of-household in the 1860 census for Windham, Windham, Vermont. He was 47 years old and Judith was 46. They had three sons living with them; Aaron F., James M. and Charles G. Gould. James was a farmer. Living next to James farm were John Gould, at age 75, his wife Lucy, age 68, and a female, age 31, with the name of Laura.[11]

Death and Burial

  • James Gould died on July 28, 1900, in Windham, Vermont. He was 87 years old.[12]
