Hubert was born in 1874 to John Gould and Emma Archer in Victoria, Australia.

In 1919, Hubert married Jessie Kean in Victoria. They had at least four children. Hubert was a bank manager.

In 1935, Hubert 61, Jessie 46, and their four children ages 6 to 15 sailed on the Balranald from Brisbane to London. They were going to stay at "Frome Biller" on 12 Howard Street in Bournemouth. Hubert was a Rtd Bank Mangr.

In 1955, Hubert passed away in Bendigo.
