Biography
Francis was born in Chaffcombe about 1775. He was the son of Francis Gould and Sarah Beavis.
He was a widower on his marriage to Elizabeth Turner in 1830. Witnesses to that marriage were Simeon Stuckey and Mary Langden.
- 1841 Francis is living in Old Town Chard with wife Elizabeth and son John age 10.
Occupation : Publican. Also Hannah Vincent (20) William Vincent (25).
- 1851 Francis is living in Old Chard with Elizabeth, granddaughter Jane Leat (21) seamstress, and daughter Anna (Hannah) Vincent (37). Also grandson Albert Vincent (5)
Occupation: inn Keeper House Proprietor
He passed away in 1859 aged 84. He is buried Blessed Virgin Mary Chard. Death 17 March 1859. Burial 25 Dec 1859.
