1871 jan 16 -- nous prêtres soussigné avons baptisé Joseph Orphile, né du même jour du légitime marriage de François Goulet , cultivateur et de Olympe Tardif de St. Sébastien. Parrain Orphile Tardif, marraine Caroline Morin. [2]
1871 Census -- Orphile is listed as 3 months old, being born in January. [3] In the household, we have his father, Francois Goulet, his mother, Olympe Tardif, siblings, Léa (5 yrs old) Fidélise (Marie-Elise) age 4, Joseph, age 3, Napoléon, age 2.
1881 Census -- Orphile seems to have had his name changed to François. According to the 1871 census, Orphile was 3 months old and born in January. Now we have a François who is 10 yrs old but no Orphile listed. [4]
1891 Census -- Here we find a François again as being 20 yrs old and still no Orphile. [5]
Possibly .... There's a lot of confusion with these names. there is also his brother François Dolar who begins using the name Adelar and then Francis??? 1893 -- Le 13 juin 1883 (...) François Goulet, cultivateur domicilié à St Sébastien, fils majeur de François Goulet et de feu Olympe Tardif, de St Sébastien d'une part et Obéline Laverdière, domicilié à St Vital de Lambton, fille mineure de David Laverdière, cultivateur et de Marie Pouliot, aussi de St Vital de Lambton d'autre part (...) 1901 Census -- The text is very blurry but it looks like François Goulet, born 17 ??? 1870. Orphile's baptism and birthday were 16 jan 1870. No other birthday comes close to this in that family. We can also guess the wife's name is probably Obéline who is born on may the 13 of Feb 187? . Children listed are possibly Henri, Rose Anne, Yvonne and Roméo. 1908 -- His brother, Francois Dolar (Francis Adelar) died.
1921 Census . -- François, Obéline, Roméo, Solomon, Idonia, Alphonse, Émilien, Irène, Marie Anne, Philibert, Germaine, Amabilis, Alice. The family lives at Courcelles, Québec, Canada . [8]
He passed away about 1954.[1]
His house is still in use and is protected as a heritage home. [9]
