Hi Bill

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand this Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Hi Bill,

I was wondering if you received the two messages that I have sent in the past week. They may have gone into the spam folder in your email, please check. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Laura, Thankyou for your interest in the Gourlay family tree. Could you advise me where that interest lies, as at the moment my main interest at the moment is to transfer the data I hold on my family and other Gourlays scattered around the world, From this I hope to obtain links with other fellow researchers.

I have other families which I have data eg. Swankie, Spink , Forgan, Cargill, Fernie etc

I hope this gives you an idea what I ab about.

Yours Aye,

Hi Bill,

I have sent you some messages via the WikiTree private message system. They should have been sent to your email. I explained in those messages what my interests were. I would really appreciate it if you would respond to the messages I sent. This is a personal matter and I would prefer not to discuss it in a public comment. Thank you for your reply here.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Bill,

I noticed that you have used "Gourlay 434" as your source on several profiles. Identifying yourself as a source is not what is intended for proper sourcing. It would be a great help if you could enter where you found your information. If the source can be found online, a link to it is also helpful.

Anything would be useful to help others know where the information comes from. For pre-1700 profiles, it is especially important to follow WikiTree policy in using reliable sources.

Thanks, and best wishes in your WikiTree journey!

Hi Bill,

Thanks for adding profiles for your family to WikiTree. Scotland's People has some great record databases so I know you've found good sources.

To help keep WikiTree the best sourced online tree, would you add some more detail about what kind of record you found, the date, the people named, etc. You can find more information about the kind of detail needed in the website section of the Sources FAQ.

If you have any questions, please let me know or ask a question in the G2G Forum.

I look forward to seeing your twig grow in the branches of WikiTree.

Hi, Bill,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordinating with others is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Based on your recent contributions the Scotland Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to review other possibilities. Read the goals and tasks of the projects and join those which are a good fit.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Hi Bill

As you have been a member of WikiTree for a few weeks now I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the[ https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:New_Member_How-To]  been helpful or left you with any questions?

I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message.

Sometimes links don't work in emails.  If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Thank you Bill for volunteering, you are now a full member of the Wikitree community. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Please start with the  How-Tos  - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around

If you click the green tags on your profile page, you'll see if other members are following the tag. Add more Surnames, Country or interest tags to improve links to community & research options. Information on tags is on page one of the How To pages. Please consider signing the Honor Code

Take your time, if you need any help using the site, let me know

Janet ~ Wikitree Greeter

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section of your profile page.
