Orange Blossom. NICHOLS—LEE GOW.
A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated at All Saints Church of England, Northcote, on Saturday. 25th March, when Mr R. Ashton Nichols, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Nichols, "Nelmer," Davison street, North Richmond, was married to Miss Ruby Lee Gow, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Lee Gow, of Yea. The Rev O. H. Barnes, of St. Hilary's East Kew, performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her brother Mr Harry Lee Gow, wore a smart coat and skirt of white China silk. Her becoming hat of white drawn plush was finished off with a dainty crystal bead mount. She carried an ivory prayer book (gift of her mother), and wore a diamond ring (gift of the bridegroom). The bridesmaids were Miss Ethel Nichols, only sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Lyra Lee Gow, youngest sister of the bride. They were prettily dressed in girlish frocks of white crepe de chene, and wore picture hats of shell pink tulle trimmed with touches of black velvet ribbon. They carried posies of la France roses and fern, finished with pale pink ribbons and tulle. They also wore gold bangles, gifts of the bridegroom. Mr Ed. Nichols was best man, The wedding luncheon was held at "Kalimna," the residence of Mrs Mitchell, only relatives and intimate friends being present, The decorations were carried out in pink and white roses and ferns. The bride's mother was gowned in black crepe de chene, with becoming black tagel hat. Mr and Mrs Nichols left by the s.s. Katoomba for Sydney and Newcastle, where they will reside pro. tem. The bride travelled in a modish costume of neutral colored gabardine, hat on suite. She carried an ex. clusively designed bag, the work and gift of Miss Murielle Roberts, Grenada, British West Indies. The presents were numerous, including many cheques, and a handsome silver cake basket, suitably inscribed and presented to the bride by the staff of the Telephone Exchange.
