Biography

Francis was born in 1841. He was the son of Joshua Gowan and Anna Braithwaite.

In 1852, he was 11 years old and living with his parents and siblings in St. Malachy, Quebec/Canada East. Francis was the only child of the family in this census who was born in Ireland. 1851/52 Census of Canada East

In 1861, his family was in Hichinbrooke, Quebec.

He passed away in 1908 in Michigan and his death certificate is on FindAGrave, and connected to memorials for his parents. FG memorial
