He lived at Robinson's Close. CENSUS: 1881 Census for Kilmarnock, Ayr. Lived at 18 High Glencairn. St. James Gowan, head, married, 32 , male, Shoemaker finisher, born in Dumfries, Dumfries, Scotland. DEATH: 1916 Deaths for Kilmarnock, Ayr, page 111 entry 333. James Gowan, Shoemaker, widower of Isabella Greig or Anderson. Died 8 August 1916 at 10 Green Street, Kilmarnock. Sex:male Age 67 years.
