Biography
Michael was born in 1808. He was the son of George Gower and Sarah Keiser. He passed away in 1889.
Found on a message board: “My Gowers orginaly came from Germany to Pa. Michael& Susannah Gauer came to Ont., Canada with his brother Philip from Pa.
Michael & Susannah had several children, among them, George Gower b. 1777, Northumberland, Pa. md. 1806 Sarah (mdn unk) Among George & Sarah's children was Michael Gower,b. 1811, who md. Elizabeth Wilkey/Wilkin. They had some 12 children. Among these were George and Sarah. George md. Barbara Jane Budkendahl and Sarah md. Barbara's brother, George Frank Henry Buckendahl……. Care must be taken to keep [straight] those Gowers in the Markham, Ont. area as there are both English and German Gowers living there.”
